1/2-day Guided Kayak or Paddleboard tour
Copperlode Fish and Kayak
This 1/2 day trip is rated moderate to strenuous.
Departure is from your Cairns city lodging, Cairns at 8:30 AM every day, return time 2:30 PM.
Lake Morris is one of the hidden gems of the Cairns area. This lake is set high in the mountains behind Cairns, and surrounded by tropical rainforests. Since it's the water supply for the city of Cairns, very few people have every gotten to explore the lake, in fact this is the first time anyone has been granted access to the lake.
Normally the long winding road up to the lake is just used by locals, but we like the fact that this tour will pick you up at your Cairns city lodging and take you there.
Mornings on the lake are quiet and beautiful, and you pretty much have the lake to yourself, except for the birdlife and wildlife you'll be sharing it with.
Kim, the owner and your guide, is an engaging and interesting person, with tremendous knowledge of the region and the lake.
The lake has many fingers and islands to explore, and due to it's shape and the surrounding mountains, is usually flat and glassy, a perfect place to paddle!
