Chillagoe Caves and Outback Day Tour
Billy Tea Bush Safaris

© Billy Tea Safaris

This 1 day trip is rated easy.

Departure Information
Departure is from Your Cairns area lodging, Cairns at 7:00 AM Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, return time 6:30 PM.

The Trip

This trip visits the dry outback countryside to the west of Cairns, and is a great taste of the history and biology of the outback.

In a day packed with diversity you will visit outback wetlands, dry forests and grasslands, and take the time to see the plant and wildlfe that is unique to this area.

You'll also visit old historic cattle, farming and mining towns that are dotted through the area, with the most historic town being Chilligoe, a tiny mining town that still produces gold, copper, and marble. © Billy Tea Safaris The area also is famous for it's limestone outcroppings and caves, you be taking time to take a tour through one of the many caves in Chilligoe National Park.

We think this tour offers a great contrast from the lush green tropical rainforest around Cairns, and is probably the quickest trip into the outback you can take from any Australian city.
