One hour Tablelands Balloon Flight
This 1 day trip is rated easy.

This trip gets you floating over the outback at daybreak for a full one-hour flight. Like the half-hour trip offerred by Raging Thunder, it uses the same type of balloon, has the same Aussie Champagne breakfast and all the other trimmings. The only difference is you get a full hour up in the balloon, floating over the rustic rural landscape of the Atherton Tablelands.
Keep in mind that often times this one hour flight is comprised of two half hour flights, and is not a single one hour flight.
Two friends of ours recently took their first balloon flight over the tablelands, an area they had never seen. Suffice it to say, they’re not morning people, and were not looking forward to the 5:00am (4:30am in Port Douglas) pick up time. However, they recognized that the pre-dawn start is one of the key elements that make this trip worth it. Impressed with the morning quiet while floating over the landscape, they watched wallabies hop through the bush, and the beautiful morning light on the landscape. With a couple of cups of Jo cranking through their veins, they would definitely do it again. Remember to bring long pants and a sweater, it can be cool in the mountains in the early morning.
