4-day PADI Open Water Dive Course
Includes Two 1-day Great Barrier Reef Trips, Silversonic

© Quicksilver Dive

The Course

Successful completion of this four-day course will result in earning your PADI Open Water Dive Certification.

The first two days of the course are taught at the custom built dive campus that Quicksilver recently built in Port Douglas, where you will learn the theory in a classroom setting, and practice it in the pool.

The final two days are spent on the reef, where you’ll go out to the reef on one of Quicksilvers two best dive boats, either Poseidon or Silversonic. where you will make four training dives to complete the certification., then two more dives as a newly certified diver

Quicksilver will also arrange exclusive courses for individuals and small groups, contact us for details. © Quicksilver Dive

This course includes dives aboard Silversonic, a 95 foot Catamaran with a maximum of 10 student divers. The dive trip included in the course is for 4 days (note: return to town overnight), and allows 6 dives.

The Boat

The Silversonic, launched in 2006, is one of the newest and fastest dive boats in the Port Douglas fleet. A 95-foot powered catamaran capable of cruising at 28 knots, it makes the trip out to the reef in just 70 minutes, which gives you more time on the reef. High-tech ride control technology makes for the smoothest ride possible out to the reef.

Silversonic, while licensed to carry many more passengers, takes a maximum of 80 visitors out to the reef. This means there is extra space for everyone, and guarantees that there will be a ratio of 8 persons per crewmember or better.

Small details of the boat also make a difference. Fresh water showers enable divers to rinse off themselves and their gear. We like the fact that there are multiple change rooms onboard, as well as a submerged dive platform that allows for easy entrances exits by divers and snorkelers.
