6-day SSI Open Water and Advanced Dive Course
Includes 4-day/3-night Great Barrier Reef Dive Trip, Kangaroo Explorer
This course combines the SSI basic dive certification course and SSI advanced certification course, along with a 4-day/3-night dive trip on the Great Barrier Reef aboard the Kangaroo Explorer.
The first four days constitute the basic certification course, which consists of the standard 2 days of pool and classroom instruction, followed by four ocean dives.
The advanced course will take up part of the final two days, with self-study and mini-courses in a number of dive specialties.
All told a snorkeler entering and passing both parts of this course will earn an advanced open water scuba dive certification, make up to 11 dives, and have one great time out on the reef! The minimum age requirement for this course is 14 years of age. (Under 18 requires signed parental permission.)
Cairns Dive Center's teaching facilities include a heated training pool, air-conditioned classrooms, changing rooms, gear lockers, showers and restrooms. Their campus is located on the edge of town, and a courtesy bus will transport you to and from your lodging. This course is offered in English, with printed course materials available in many other languages.
