2-day/1-night Great Barrier Reef
Sail and Dive Trip, aboard Coral Sea Dreaming
New Horizon Sail and Dive

© New Horizon Sail and Dive

This trip is aboard Coral Sea Dreaming, a 55 foot Mono Hull Sailboat with a maximum of 10 divers and a Dive Staff of 2. It is for 2 days, 1 night, and allows 4 dives, plus 1 night dive.

Departure Information
Departure is from D Finger, Marlin Marina, Cairns at 8:30 AM Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, return time 4:30 PM.

The Dive

We really like overnight trips out to the reef with small groups. Going on a liveaboard reef trip means that you have more time to spend in the water looking at the reef, because the boat is not making a round trip between harbor and the reef the same day. © Great Barrier Reef Enterprizes We like the ambience of small group activities, and enjoy the less crowded feeling and more personal atmosphere.

An overnight trip on the Coral Sea Dreaming is one such trip. The boat visits Thetford, Moore, Milln, and Flynn Reefs, a cluster of reefs some 40km the Cairns and the coast. Sailing out and back takes around 4 hours. The small group size, just ten passengers, makes it easier for the dive staff to organize drift dives, night dives, and other unique opportunities. Certified divers usually make five dives on this trip, inlcuding one night dive. Snorkelers will have plenty of time in the water and the opportunity to make up to three introductory dives.

The Boat

The Coral Sea Dreaming is a modern steel sailing Ketch. Outfitted with a beautiful wooden interior, it has three private cabins, each slightly different and able to suit different guests. This 55-footer is equipped with a generous fresh water supply, generator, fridge and freezer, she makes for a comfortable boat for 2-day trips and extended charters.
