This trip is aboard Kangaroo Explorer, an 82 foot Catamaran with a maximum of 38 divers. It is for 4 days, 3 nights, and allows 11 dives, plus 3 night dives.
Departure Information
Departure is from your lodging (free pickup), Cairns at 8:15 AM every day, return time 4:30 PM.
The Dive
This trip offers 14 dives, including three night dives. The Kangaroo Explorer operates as a floating reef hotel. She stays out at the reef full-time, moving from mooring to mooring, giving divers new dive sites to explore while following the best dive conditions. The dive vessel moves between the company's moorings on Milln, Thetford, Channel, Moore, Elford and Briggs reefs.
Cairns Dive Centre's day dive boat, Reefkist, will be used to shuttle you out and back from the live aboard boat. She's stable and fast dive boat, taking and will whisk you out to the reef in around an hour.
This trip is a good choice for divers and snorkelers looking for a budget-priced liveaboard reef trip.

The Boat
The MV Kangaroo Explorer is a modern 82-foot power catamaran, specifically designed for Queensland coastal cruising. Each of the 16 large cabins is fully carpeted with ensuite bathroom, air-conditioning, and window or porthole. There is ample space on the three deck levels. Other features include the relaxing lounge, sun deck, library and fully licensed bar. The ship is fully equipped with the latest navigational equipment, all safety gear and ship to shore radio. This is a very comfortable and stylish boat, and is ideally suited for multi day dive trips.
The most recent improvement to this boat is the newly expanded dive deck, which expands the space available to divers gearing up and entering the water.

Cairns Dive Centre's day dive boat, Sun-kist, will be used to shuttle you out and back from the live aboard boat. She's stable and fast dive boat, taking up to 24 folks to and from the Kangaroo Explorer each day.

About Cairns Dive Centre
Cairns Dive Centre is one of Cairns’ most respected dive operators and has been operating in Cairns for many years. This locally owned company is also one of the largest dive schools in Cairns, and trained over 6.500 divers last year. Cairns Dive Center is an SSI Career Development Center, and as such has trained many of the dive masters and instructors working in the area.
