This trip is aboard Pacific Star, a 60 foot Catamaran with a maximum of 21 divers and a Dive Staff of 2. It is for 4 days, 3 nights, and allows 6 dives.
Departure Information
Departure is from Airlie Beach at 7:30 PM Wednesdays and Saturdays, return time 4:00 PM.
The Dive
This 3-night trip takes you cruising through the Whitsunday Islands and on to dive locations on the outer Great Barrier Reef.
 As with most dive trips in this area, the exact itinerary evolves, and is influenced by both the weather and tides, as well as the interestes of the guests on board.
With two dive instructors on board there are ample opportunities to dive. Certified divers can make up to 6 dives, and even complete their PADI advanced or rescue divers courses on board. Snorkellers can make up to 6 introductory scuba dives, or just enjoy snorkelling in the clear warm waters.
The Boat
The Pacific Star is a beautiful sailing catamaran, outfitted to make for a very comfortable trip through the Whitsunday Islands and the outer Great Barrier Reef. The boat is 18 metres long, and has all the modern comforts; air conditioning, ensuite cabins, TV, DVD and CD player.
There are a variety of cabins on board, including private double and twin share cabins as well as multi share cabins. All told Pacific Star can accommodate just 21 guests, a nice small group. A large common galley/lounge area makes an ideal place for you to get to know your fellow divers. Entry in and out of the water is easy via the purpose-built dive platform at the stern of the boat.
