One-Day Great Barrier Reef Trip Noah's Ark Cruises |
|
This trip is aboard Noah's Ark Too, a 50 foot Mono Hull with a maximum of 32 divers. It is for 1 day, and allows 2 dives.
Departure Information
Departure is from Marlin Marina, E Finger, Cairns at 8:30 AM every day, return time 4:45 PM.
The Dive
A trip on the Noah’s Ark Too is a good choice for those seeking good diving and snorkeling with a small group, all at a very reasonable price. The boat takes a maximum of 32 passengers, probably the smallest group size of any budget priced reef trip in the Cairns area. The boat is equipped and staffed to support divers, and snorkelers who choose to take an introductory scuba dive.
The trip out to the reef takes around 45 minutes. The boat has a roving permit, so it has access to a number of different dive sites and can choose the best site based on weather, tides and other conditions. It will visit two different dive sites, between which the crew will serve you an abundant, tropical buffet lunch. Certified divers have the opportunity to make two dives, and snorkelers who really want to get wet can spend over four hours in the water.
The Boat
The Noah’s Ark Too is a new addition to the Cairns Dive Fleet. This custom-built dive boat, built in 1987, just underwent a major refit in 2000, and now sports a new engine, gearbox, paint, carpet and upholstery. Moving at 20 knots, the 50-foot long boat makes a quick trip out to the reef, is equipped with all the basic dive paraphernalia, and makes a good dive platform.
