One-Day Cruise/Heli Great Barrier Reef Trip (w/Down Under Dive)
Book This Trip
This trip is aboard Nautilus Heli Fleet, a Jet Helicopter with a maximum of 6 divers and a Dive Staff of 6. It is for 1 day, and allows 2 dives.
Departure is from Reef Fleet Terminal, next to the Marlin Marina, Cairns at 7:30 AM every day, return time 3:50 PM.
This trip combines a great day out on the Great Barrier Reef with a scenic flight home. This is a full day trip, visiting two different reefs, which gives you enough time to snorkel and try scuba diving (at an extra cost).
Snorkelers will have lots of time to spend in the water, and a semi-submersible boat (payable on the boat) which gives you a closer look at the reef without getting wet. Evolution takes up to 120 passengers out to the reef, typically a fourth of the folks on board are divers, the rest snorkelers.
At the end of the day you will meet up with Nautilus Aviation on the floating helicopter pad on the reef, and from there you will take to the skies to admire the Great Barrier Reef before heading back to Cairns.
Nautilus Aviaition has a fleet of 23 top of the range helicopters of all sizes that it uses for it's flights to and from the reef. They select the helicopter to use based on the number of passengers, the weight being flown and the flight conditions.
The helicopters have capacity that ranges from 3 to 7 passengers, and include Bell, Robinson, Eurocopter and Squirrels.
