Departure Information
Departure is from Airlie Beach at 12:00 PM Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, return time 11:00 AM.
The Dive
A trip out on Powerplay offers you three days and two nights of exploring the best spots in the Whitsunday Islands and inner Great Barrier Reef, both above and below the water. The boat’s high speed permits a wider range than a lot of the other boats, and the Powerplay skipper is proud of their open itinerary, which permits them to hit the high points, the secrets spots, and cater to the interests of the guests on board and the whims of the weather and tides as well.
Nearly every trip visits Whitehaven Beach, a world-class picture postcard sort of place that should not be missed. Under the water divers and snorkellers will be exploring the sheltered and shallow dive sites typical of the protected island areas of the inner barrier reef in this region.
All told certified divers can make up to 3 dives, snorkellers can make up to 3 ntroductory scuba dives.
We also like the fact that the boat departs at noon, and returns late morning, giving everyone time to sleep in, and find their way to their next destination on the return.
The Boat
Powerplay is a sleek and modern powercat, and makes for a quick and comfortable dive trip through the Whitsunday region. Her 20 knot speed allows for wide choice of dive sites and quiet evening anchorages.
Powerplay accommodates up to 18 passengers in both double and share cabins. The boat is decked out with all the navigation gear, as well flat screen Televisions, DVD players, an onboard computer for processing dive photos, even a heated spa. All of the double cabins are air conditioned.
The dive deck is at the stern of the boat, and access to and from the water is via a two gently sloping stairways, with a wide sit-down platform area at water level.
