This trip is aboard Spirit of Freedom, a 122 foot Mono Hull with a maximum of 26 divers and a Dive Staff of 3. It is for 5 days, 4 nights, and allows 11 dives, plus 3 night dives.

Departure is from Cairns Airport, Cairns at 8:30 AM Thursdays, return time 7:00 AM.
The Dive
This dive trip represents an ideal dive opportunity for someone seeking the best diving this region has to offer, combined with great comfort and service.
The trip starts with a scenic low-level flight to Lizard Island, where you will join up with the dive boat. You will make two dives on the Ribbon Reefs before heading out into the Coral Sea, with the skipper choosing from world class dive sites such as Cod Hole, Pixie’s Pinnacle and Challenger Bay.
The Coral Sea Reefs are a series of reef systems, each quite separate from the other, and each with their own characteristics and highlights. They are around 100km (60 miles) outside the Great Barrier Reef. These reefs are known for their consistently great visibility, (always over 30 meters), spectacular wall dives, rich assortment of marine life, and abundant pelagic fish. These pristine reef systems are off the beaten track; few other, and in some cases no other dive boats visit them.
The skipper will choose from a selection of great dive sites, to give the best possible diving and passenger comfort, based on the prevailing weather. Reef systems on the list include South Flinders, Flinders, Dart, East and West Holmes, Flora, Bouganville, Shark, and Osprey Reefs.
An energetic diver may make up to 14 dives on this trip, all of which will stand out in anyone’s dive log as some of the best they have ever done.

The Boat
The Spirit of Freedom was added to the Cairns dive fleet in 2002. She is a beautiful vessel, custom built by her first owner and lovingly cared for. Recently our of a major refit, the boat is a beauty.
The boat has 11 cabins, each with it's own bathroom/shower. The cabins are all spacious, air-conditioned and nicely appointed. There are three separate decks, giving a great deal of room to roam. The boat includes electronically activated huill stabilizers, which combined with her 122-foot length make her one a very stable and comfortable dive vessel.

About Spirit of Freedom
Spirit of Freedom is a relatively new company in Cairns, spun off in 2002 from Tusa Dive, one of the most respected dive operators in the area. Using Tusa Dive's fine model as a guide, the Spirit of Freedom's aim is to provide a superior livaboard dive experience for their passengers, and for the past two years has been doing just that.
