2-night Reef and Island Sail/Dive Trip Aboard Kiana Oz Adventure Sailing |
|
This trip is aboard Kiana, a 55 foot Mono Hull Sailboat with a maximum of 14 divers and a Dive Staff of 2. It is for 2 days, 3 nights, and allows 4 dives.
Departure Information
Departure is from Airlie Beach at 8:30 AM Mondays and Fridays, return time 4:00 PM.
The Dive
The Kiana is a great small group experience. The itinerary, while dependent on the weather, tides and interests of the guests, nearly always includes cruising through the Whitsunday Islands, visiting beautiful Whitehaven Beach, and heading out to dive on the Outer Great Barrier Reef.
There are three crew on board, a skipper, dive instructor, and hostess. Together they aim to create a great atmosphere for the trip, with carefully supervised diving and snorkeling during the day, and great meals and a relaxed atmosphere at night.
The Boat
The Kiana is a 16-metre sailing ketch, and is a good choice for divers and snorkellers interested in a small group sail/dive trip. The boat holds 14 guests, with air conditioned twin share and three-share cabins. Like all cruising sailboats, space is limited, but the boat’s layout uses it efficiently. There is a large central galley and lounge area, as well as both open and shaded deck space. Entry to and from the water is via a ladder lowered off the stern of the boat, and the crew uses a dinghy to transport divers and snorkellers to dive sites away from the boat.
