The Dive
Trying to combine a visit to the Great Barrier reef with some excellent diving on the Yongala wreck? This 3-day trip could be it for you.
This 3-day trip combines two days of diving on the Great Barrier Reef, starting with the gullies and canyons at Keeper Reef, then the often unlimited visibility at Wheeler Reef. These dives are followed by a visit to the Yongala Wreck, where you will make two dives on this outstanding dive site, known for the abundant big fish that frequent the wreck.
While the diving on the Reef itself is not too technical, Diving on the Yongala wreck most certainly is. For safe diving Adrenalin Dive requires divers to have a minimum dive experience of 6 logged dives, and requires anyone without advanced certification or 15 logged dives with 5 dives in the past year to complete a pool assessment and wreck orientation. Snorkelers, take note that you would not be able to do and intro scuba dive or snorkel on the Yongala wreck.
As with Yongala trips run by all operators, wind, tide and wave conditions may prevent diving on the wreck, and in that case that day’s diving is done on the Great Barrier Reef.
We also caution you, that weather does cancel this trip, more frequently than any other dive trip we offer. If you are making what might be your only dive trip to the Great Barrier Reef you might consider taking a liveaboard trip out of Cairns, as dive trips departing from Cairns have a very low rate of weather-related cancellations.

The Boat
The Sea-esta is one of the veterans of the Great Barrrier Reef dive scene. She's definitely not the newest or fastest boat in the dive fleet. That said, she is a reasonably comfortable boat, and suited to her purpose of providing great liveaboard dive experiences at a very low price.
The boat takes up to 20 divers out to the reef, in an assortment of double, twin, and 4-share cabins. There are ample covered deck areas to keep you and your gear out of the sun, and a galley capable of keeping you well fed.
