3-night Great Barrier Reef/Whitsunday Sail/Dive Trip
Book This Trip
This trip is aboard Anaconda III, a 101 foot Mono Hull Sailboat with a maximum of 32 divers and a Dive Staff of 4. It is for 4 days, 3 nights, and allows 4 dives, plus 2 night dives.
Departure is from Abel Point Marina, Airlie Beach at 7:00 PM Tuesdays and Fridays, return time 4:00 PM.
Anaconda III is one of a handful of Whitsunday Sailing Yachts that vists both the Whitsunday Islands as well as the Great Barrier Reef. Of course the day spent out on the reef is subject to weather conditions but usually each trip is able to make it out to the reef on one of the three days sailing.
Like all Whitsundays Sailing Trips there is no set itinerary.
The complex way that tides and currents move through the Great Barrier Reef and Islands requires adjusting the itinerary to take advantage of high and low tides.
We like the fact that this trip visits the most scenic areas of the islands (like Whitehaven Beach), plus the Great Barrier Reef. At many of these locations you’ll have the option of snorkeling, diving, or getting onshore and doing a bit of bushwalking. Other locations commonly visited on this trip are Nara Inlet on Hook Island, Blue Pearl Bay on Hayman Island, and Manta Ray Bay.
Anaconda III offers onboard scuba diving for both certified and introductory divers. You can purchase a dive package or just try one introductory dive if you are a novice. Everyone can snorkel for free and snorkel gear is supplied free.
Your skipper will choose the best day to go out to Bait Reef which is our location for diving and snorkling on the Great Barrier Reef. Bait Reef offers fantastic coral and marine life and is one of the better reef locations for divers visiting this region.
The crew is laid back but fully focused on making your vacation on Anaconda III a memorable experience. You can participate in the sailing of our mega yacht or just take it easy and watch the activity from your spot on the sundeck.
Anaconda is a 101-foot (31-metre) mono-hulled sailbout, designed and outfitted to be a comfortable liveaboard dive vessel.
With 13 cabins, all air-conditioned and with ensuite toilet/showers the boat can accommodate up to 32 guests. There's ample salon and deck space, and some nice features for divers: on board air compressor, two tenders, and a rear stairway for easy entries and exits to the water.
