4-day PADI Rescue Diver Course
includes 3-day/2-night Great Barrier Reef trip, Scubapro
The PADI Rescue Diver course is a crucial step in your diving education and is highly recommended to all divers. It's a transitional stage in your diving education where you move beyond just diving for fun by expanding your knowledge of some of the more technical aspects of diving as well as learning rescue and emergency skills.
To start this or any PADI rescue diver course you need to already have your PADI open water and PADI advanced certification, as well as completed the required first aid course. It is possible to take the fist aid course with Pro Dive Cairns the day before the rescue course begins.
The first day of this course you will be reading your manuals and completing your knowledge reviews at Pro Diveís campus.. Like all PADI rescue courses there are pool sessions to learn and practice rescue scenarios before completing them in the open water.
The final three days of the course you will be on a 3-day/2-night dive trip. During this trip you will make 10 dives, including two night dives.
Three of you ten dives are course dives, where you will be practicing rescue skills learned during the course. The remaining seven dives are pleasure dives, and during them you can expect to encounter rescue scenarios arranged by Pro Diveís instructors.
This course includes dives aboard Scubapro, a 75 foot Mono Hull with a maximum of 10 student divers. The dive trip included in the course is for 4 days, 2 nights, and allows 8 dives, plus 2 night dives.
The Scubapro I, II, and III make a fine set of triplets! These identical boats are fast, comfortable purpose-built dive boats. Each has 14 twin and 2 double cabins, with 8 bathrooms with an overnight capacity of 32 divers. The boats are air conditioned throughout.
These boats are all new, having been built in '98 and '02 and '04. ProDive's maintenance of these boats has kept all three in great shape; you have to look at the name on the hull to tell them apart! They can cruise out to the reef at 13 knots, and make for a quick and stable dive platform.
For more info about this boat, see the floorplan.
