3 1/2 Day Cod Hole/Coral Sea Dive Trip
Book This Trip
This trip is aboard Diversity, a 69 foot Catamaran with a maximum of 12 divers and a Dive Staff of 5. It is for 4 days, 3 nights, and allows 11 dives, plus 3 night dives.
Departure is from Quicksilver Dive Shop, Marina Mirage, Port Douglas at 6:00 PM Fridays, return time 12:00 PM.
This trip visits two of the outstanding dive region along the Great Barrier Reef. The first area, Ribbon Reefs (including Cod Hole) are a part ot the Great Barrier Reef, and Osprey Reef, an isolated reef system far out in the Coral Sea.
Out of the few dive operators that operate trips visiting these two great locations, this trip has the smallest group size (just 12), and the fastest and newest boat.
The speed of the boat cuts down the wear and tear of travel, and maximes your time at dive sites. It also gives the skipper a greater range of dive sites to choose from each day, and means better diving for you. The crew of five includes a marine biologist to help answer your questions about what you see while diving.
The trip will take you parts of five days; departure is at 6pm on Fridays, followed by three full days of diving the Ribbon Reefs and Osprey Reef. The final day (Tuesday) you will make two morning dives at Agincourt Reef, then return to Port around midday.
All-told, you will make 14 great dives on this trip, in some of the best locations in the region.

The Diversity is Quicksilver Dive’s newest boat, and was custom-designed as a liveaboard dive boat for small groups, and as such is perfectly suited for these trips. Launched in 2002, this 69-foot boat is the fastest liveaboard boat operating in the area, up to twice that of other dive boats. This becomes important on the long runs to distant dive sites, as the time you spend at sea is reduced, and the time you spend at calm anchorages is increased.
There are just six cabins, in both twin and double configurations, each with their own wash basin and ocean views. The two premium cabins each have their own bathrooms; the remaining cabins share two other baths. The twin hull design creates lots of deck space, for the galley, salon, dive deck and sun deck. All enclosed spaces on board are air-conditioned. The boat carries a tender to get you right up on the best dive locations.
