Snorkelling and Introductory Scuba Diving on the Reef
A great experience with Cairns Dive Centre
This note came to us from one of our clients, Laura from Canada. If you'd like to have an adventure like this check out the dive trip that Laura took here.
My dive trip was one of the best experiences of my life.
My dive instructor Scott was so helfpul, and is the best person to inspire people to dive, without the pressure. I did my very first introductory scuba dive with him and I wanted to do 10 more. I fell in love with the quiet and calm. I was travelling solo and it had been so busy before this part of my trip.
The ride to the reef was a bit of an adventure. The wind was blowing and that kicked up a swell. I think it should be mandatory for those who may have drank the night before to take the sea sickness pills! We had a few that were not so healthy by the time we got to the overnight boat. I do admit that it was a rough ride and I was a bit queasy but controlled my stomach.
Everything was so well organized on the overnight boat. I was amazed that everything (all of the transferring of people, the meals, the dives and snorkelling) went on in an amazing schedule. I am not sure how anyone could organize that many people in a small space. Amazing!
My other dive guide Tim was also great! He took myself and 2 other snorkelers, on an snorkelling trip, were not strong swimmers. He gave them a floating ring to hang onto and towed them all over the place to make sure they saw lots of great things.. I was happy to be able to tag-along, swimming to the side of them. He was able to show us some thing that we would not have seen on our own.
The meals were so much better than I expected for such a budget-priced trip.. I am not sure what I was expecting, but it was so good! The hospitality staff were friendly and kind. They sat, talked, and patiently answered any questions (about anything!).
I am definitely going to get my certification, either the next timeCairns, or somewhere here - the cold water of here (Ontario, Canada) scares me (lol). I would trust anyone at Cairns Dive Centre to train me - I would feel totally comfortable. I was nervous about my intro scuba dives but those fears were eased by the dive instructor almost instantly. I was lucky that I was the only one doing an intro dive. The one on one attention was unexpected but really great. Dive groups on intro scuba dives range from 1 to 4 persons with the instructor.
I can't say enough about the experience. Between the people, the environment, the service, the atmosphere.... it was the most amazing experience. I can't wait to do it again....if only it was closer to home!
This was the best adventure that I have ever been on! I hope all of the people who experience the Great Barrier Reef have the trip that I did. I am very thankful to all that made this trip what it was. I would do it all again tomorrow if I could, and everyday after that - if only life did not get in the way.
Divereef.com - I could not have done this without you!! You answered all of my questions quickly and accurately. All of your answers came much faster than I ever expected. You made my visit to Cairns much more manageable. Booking my dive trip with an amazing company, booking my accommodations, and day trip all in one transaction saved so much time and energy. I am truly thankful that your website was easy to find and that I did not choose any other site to help me. Joel I would totally amazed if you are just one person. I will never forget your kindness and service- Laura - Ontario, Canada
